About Jenni

I am a fairly new Tasmanian mosaic artist who predominantly works in slate, natural Tasmanian stone, smalti, marble, metal and my fused glass. I also sometimes work with china and tiles.

I use a small horseshoe as my signature on all my works because for forty years we bred Arabian horses.

My inspirations come from many different things particularly the poetry of some of the 19th and 20th century poets. I have done a series of works based on the poetry of the great American poet Robert Frost.

I often just look at the materials to get my inspiration. Until I was putting this website I hadn’t realised how important circles were to me - they feel so safe.

I also enjoy working in black-and-white.

As a child I remember visiting the slate and stone quarries in North Wales owned by my maternal family; hence my love of these materials.
